Are you looking for a rewarding leadership role? We’re in need of one or two Volunteer Coordinators to help organize Fair Vote Toronto’s presence at outdoor events throughout the summer. This includes maintaining a list of rallies, farmers’ markets, and other events occurring this summer as well as organizing any volunteers who wish to attend. As Volunteer Coordinator, you will manage and coordinate volunteers, maintain a fun and supportive environment, and help build a sense of community among volunteers.
Position Responsibilities:
- You are an ambassador of Fair Vote Toronto – lead the charge and represent with pride!
- First point of contact for new volunteers to onboard them into Slack and direct them on how to get involved
- Keep volunteers informed and connected with the organization
- Build a sense of community among volunteers
- Build and maintain a list of rallies, farmers’ markets, and other events occurring this summer
- Manage and coordinate teams of volunteers for community activities
- Provide ongoing support for volunteers
- Moderate the Slack workspace
- This is a five-month role, from May to end of September, and will require 5 – 8 hours per week
- Work is done remotely, other than the in-person activities and events throughout the city
Qualifications:
- Support for proportional representation and Fair Vote Canada
- Strong leadership with the ability and desire to build community
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members.
- Ability to commit at least 5 hours/week
- Strong skills using Google Docs, GSuite applications, and Slack
- Comfortable communicating and connecting through email, text message, and Slack messages
